My Hiring Credentials

I'm somewhat skeptical about making a new LinkedIn page for my "pseudonym". Luckily my LinkedIN bio is written in half resume/ half essay style. I'm actually interested to see what people think of it. I just got a new job a month ago. Not sure if my resume helped at all during the process. In the media industry it is not always who has the best looking resume but rather "who you know" that gets you the interview. Either way here is my crack at a resume. Happy Reading!

  1. Hey man. Congratulations on the new job. Your resume is great. It is so true "that it's not always who has the best looking resume but rather "who you know" that gets you the interview." Are you dealing with mostly news or sports?

  3. I completely agree about the "who you know" bit! I went through a year and a half of unfruitful job searching before finally deciding to go back to school. You do an excellent job describing what you did at each of your past jobs, which I think is definitely a big help to potential employers. I do think you get a little wordy in some places, though. Maybe try simplifying the descriptions and put the specifics (like what types of cameras you can run and what computer programs you know) in a separate section called "Skills." Something like what I did with my resume. That was recommended to me by career services both here and when I was in undergrad.
